You can take the IELTS test in two ways:

Computer-based:- You need to sit in front of a computer with questions been presented on the computer screen for Writing, Listening and Reading tests in an official IELTS exam center. The Speaking test is taken face-to-face with an IELTS examiner.

Paper-based: - You need to sit at a desk with the question paper and answer sheets for Writing, Listening and Reading tests in an official IELTS exam center. The Speaking test is taken face-to-face with an IELTS examiner.

 

The IELTS exam has two formats:-

IELTS Academic: - This is for the students who want to pursue higher education or professional registration. Basically, this test measures your English proficiency for studying or tutoring.

IELTS General Training: -This is for the candidates or aspirants who are planning for a non-academic training or immigration purposes or to work in an English speaking country.
