Today, the most powerful force in our environment and by far the most important for many organizations, institutions, society, and nations at large is Technology. Every entity small or large is experimenting with new organizational arrangements and is experiencing the challenges of the information era. As a student of Information Systems, I am delighted and at the same time perplexed by the inexhaustible potential of the information sector and the versatility of the tasks it could perform. Initially, my primary interest was in gaming but at the same time, various other applications of the Windows Operating System caught my eye. At present, I am certain that a Master’s Degree in Information systems fits my professional objectives. Studying abroad in an international environment will prepare me for an intellectually challenging journey.

Academic Background:

My Bachelor’s of Engineering project was related to ‘Cluster Computing’. It was centered as a type of Parallel or Distributed processing system, which consists of a collection of interconnected standalone computers working together as a single integrated computing resource. Our team used Java to develop this project. It was an interesting experience as it gave exposure to how to plan, manage & overcome challenges in a professional environment.

My Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering built a strong foundation for my further learning. I have benefited from the breadth of the Bachelor’s curriculum and it gave me a strong conceptual understanding of the core areas of Computer Science. I gained expertise in various subjects like Microprocessors, Microcontrollers, Basics of analog and Digital Communication, Electronics Instrumentation, Analog & Digital Signal Processing, Computer Architecture, etc. These subjects equipped me with the research aptitude and strong fundamentals to go for advanced study of Computer Science. I learned how to analyze, design, and develop ‘ideas’ with the proper approach and specific methods.

During this period, I gained proficiency in the languages C, C++, Java, SQL & PLSQL. I have also familiarized myself with the Linux operating system. I had the opportunity to learn courses like UNIX, VHDL, Xilinx, Latex, AutoCAD, etc.

I have been working in an EMR company ‘Yellow Bat’ for the last 1 year. Apart from the industry experience, it has helped me in understanding the implementation phase of a project, with installation and configuration of the TOMCAT server and MySQL services on the client-side. The interaction with the clients has enabled me to hone my confidence and communication skills. This experience has triggered my passion to pursue my higher education in the field of Information Systems where I can get industry-specific training to become a successful professional.

In addition to my project work and academics, I have always been interested in discussions and programs like presentations and seminars related to the field of Computer Technology and Information systems. I have attended several Intra and intercollegiate festivals which provided me an excellent platform for knowledge exchange about the latest advancement and trends in technology. These activities have also inspired me to gain more knowledge about these growing trends in the field of technology from an institute that provides the infrastructure and coursework and enables me to meet the challenges of the future.

My Aspirations:

I am looking forward to being a part of your MS in Information Systems Program and with my diligent efforts, excel in the academic requirements and assignments. I want to contribute to my field of study as well as the student body while I spend my crucial time at your University. I am specifically keen to work in diverse sectors after completing my graduate studies and use my skills dynamically.
