As a part of the final year curriculum, I completed a project titled ‘Design and Fabrication of a battery-operated vehicle’. In 2012, I was recruited as a Junior Industrial Engineer by Jindal Steels, India. My responsibilities as an Industrial Engineer included evaluating production schedules, processes, specifications, designing manufacturing processes that maximize productivity and reduce waste. I designed control systems to minimize costs and production issues, developed production standards in cooperation with the management and clients. In 2014, I was promoted to Senior Industrial Engineer and I started training a team of 10 on developing and implementing new ideas, technological upgrades, and improvements. For the next 2 years, I handled a team of 20 employees on a few major projects and my performance was appreciated by my seniors with a ‘Best Performer’ award in 2016. I enjoyed every task that I completed in this company and was promoted twice during my tenure.

While working in Jindal Steels, on weekends, I taught engineering students Industrial Operations and Research, Inventory Management System, Application of Industrial Systems, and explained the practical aspects of these subjects to them. I also mentored the students to make career decisions that most suit their profile and passion.

I have been enjoying swimming and cycling for a long time. I have earned 2 gold medals in the State-level Swimming Championship for the State of Maharashtra. I have also been participating in cycling tournaments and many adventurous cycling expeditions in various parts of Northern India, Nepal, and Bhutan. In the future, I would like to become a swimming coach alongside my mainstream profession. My hobbies also include reading sci-fictions and contributing to the environment through, engaging in cleanliness drives and tree plantations.

My tendency to keep learning and experimenting always helped me to excel at my academics and at work, but the same quality motivates me to move ahead and take up new challenges especially in my field of study. I am deeply interested in pursuing my Master’s in Industrial Engineering. In the future, I would like to see myself as a Project Manager in a renowned establishment. A master’s degree from your university would most certainly help me achieve my goals in life. In the long run, achieving a respectful and commanding position in the global manufacturing and industrial domain is what I strive for.
