Human Beings have this natural tendency to innovate. Had this not been true, we would still be riding a horse to travel from Mumbai to Pune, perform mathematical calculations manually, get back home before its dark, grieve the death of our dear ones to diseases that are not known. We would live a life that our ancestors lived 300 years ago.

It took intense hard work done by Thomas Alva Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Blaise Pascal, Alexander Fleming and so many more of such great human beings that we are living a comfortable life today.

Consider this situation - A research project at a university is headed by the Department Head. He breaks down this research into many modules. For each module, the research head needs people with certain skills and competencies to assist him.

 - For one of the modules, the Research Head may need a person like Rohit, who has recently completed his Masters. He is a fresh graduate, full of energy and new ideas.

 - For another module, the Research Head may prefer to have Smita, who has 16 years of work experience. This is a critical module and requires an experienced person.

Both, Rohit and Smita would join the research team, say in FALL 2018. They would contribute to the research and alongside complete their own Ph.D., say in FALL 2023. The Research Head will then look for people to replace them.

As we saw, PEOPLE WOULD COME AND LEAVE - RESEARCH WOULD NEVER STOP! It is because of this human tendency to constantly achieve more, that we gradually shifted from calculating manually, to using a calculator and now finally we can speak to a device to perform them!

We receive a lot of inquiries from students who wish to pursue a Ph.D. abroad. We would say close to 25% of the inquiries constitute Ph.D. students.

Else, despite getting admit from a good university along with funding, it would be like a punishment to work towards earning a Ph.D. As you all know Ph.D. is real hard work. A lot of patience and a long commitment as it may take 5 or 6 years to complete the program. It is a demanding course and keeps you occupied for days and nights. But, at the end once when you achieve your goal, it can be extremely satisfying as well as rewarding.

A tremendous amount of money is being invested in research. This money is invested by Corporates, Governments, NGOs, and universities themselves and it also enables students to get a good amount of funding as well.
