Covid vaccine & quarantine rules for students going abroad for studies

The Fall 2021 academic year is about to commence. With the covid pandemic still gaining momentum, countries abroad have imposed certain restrictions. Students traveling abroad for studying must be completely vaccinated. The Indian government, too, understands the implications and has made special arrangements to make vaccination easy for students going abroad. And the Indian students are anxious to attend offline lectures on their university campus. These students are on the priority list of the government.

The students are advised to take the Covishield vaccine since WHO recognizes it, and it is internationally accepted. The students who wish to be vaccinated on priority must have relevant documents such as the visa and the admission receipts. Keeping the situation's urgency in mind, the health ministry has reduced the gaps between the two doses for students going abroad. The students can receive the second dose within 28 days.

Most of the vaccination centers set up by different states across India, for students flying abroad are walk-in centers and follow the first-come, first-serve rule. It is recommended that the students carry their passports to print the passports number on the vaccination certificate. Other required documents include, university admission letter, I-20 or  DS -1 60 forms, and any ID proof such as the Adhar card.

Quarantine rules for international students:

Most countries have made it mandatory for international students to follow quarantine rules upon arrival. Students must quarantine themselves for at least 14 days. Some countries also require you to take the Covid test after landing in the country.
