What is VLSI?

VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) was founded in 1970. The MOS integrated circuit chips were then adopted which further developed complex semiconductor and telecommunication technologies. Combining of millions of MOS (Metal-Oxide-Silicon) transistors into a single chip to create an integrated circuit (IC) is known as VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration). VLSI devices consist of the microprocessor and memory chips. Before VLSI technology developed, integrated circuits performed limited functions.
