If you are an EEA/EU/ EFTA citizen, you can work while you are studying in Switzerland if you want to. Non-EEA/EU/EFTA students can start work only after they complete 6 months of studying their degree program. Also, international students can work for 15 hours per week while the semester is active and they can work full time (full business hours) during holidays. Also, to study and work in Switzerland international students need a work permit that is issued only when their college/university allows them to work. There are also a few colleges that don’t allow their students to work while studying.
