UNITED KINGDOM - STUDENT’S VISA

The UK visas and Immigration manages the visa requirement and general immigration criteria in the UK. As a known rule, EU/ EEA citizens and Swiss nationals do not currently require a student visa to join a college or university in the UK.

Types of student visas: If you want to apply for a short course in the UK and you are 18 years old, then you need a short-term visa. It is valid for 6 months and is extendable for up to 11 months for language courses in English. If you plan to study a long course, you must ensure that your university holds a TIER 4 Sponsor License. These institutions can recruit students from non-EEA/EU countries.

Study requirements: The first step is to receive the acceptance letter from a university. Once you have an official acceptance from the chosen institution, you can start with the visa process. UK visas are granted on a points-based system.
