1. Amsterdam: Popularly known as the Venice of the North, the capital city of Amsterdam is also the most wellknown city of the Netherlands. Famous for its extensive canals, open-minded attitudes, and culture, it is the economic center and pulse of the country. 3. Leiden: Leiden is a small city conveniently located near the cities of The Hague, Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Known for its picturesque canals, some of which look very similar to the canals in Amsterdam, Leiden can almost be called a mix of Amsterdam and Delft. A tight-knit student community constitutes a large part of the city’s population with a large number of sororities, fraternities and student communities which can be used to develop your social and professional network.
