1. Amsterdam: Popularly known as the Venice of the North, the capital city of Amsterdam is also the most wellknown city of the Netherlands. 3. Leiden: Leiden is a small city conveniently located near the cities of The Hague, Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Known for its picturesque canals, some of which look very similar to the canals in Amsterdam, Leiden can almost be called a mix of Amsterdam and Delft.
