How is the Japanese work culture?

Japan’s work culture is different compared to the American work culture. The office environment is formal and might be a surprise for your co-workers if you are too casual at work. Japanese workers don’t call each other by their first names, which is very common in most other countries’ offices. The office hours are long and you may end up partying with your co-workers after work. Also, Japanese employees don’t make big decisions without any advice from their seniors. Japanese work culture focuses on group-wise development rather than individual progress.
