IELTS General
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is designed to evaluate the language ability of applicants/test-takers that need to study or work in a country where English is used as the language of communication. IELTS needs to be taken for entry in universities in the UK and other countries.
The IELTS general is easier compared to the academic version and consists of 4 sections – Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. The Listening section consists of 40 questions in 30 minutes, the speaking section of 15 minutes with 3 parts, the reading section having 40 questions to be answered in 60 minutes, and the writing section of 2 parts.
PR in Canada
For getting PR in Canada you need to determine your eligibility for the Canadian PR status. You need to start the process by calculating your score for express entry in the CRS system. Here, you need to add all the points by examining the types of age, level of education, official language proficiency, second official language, and Canadian work experience. You also need to add proof of sufficient funds to support you and your family, except that you can legally work or have a job offer from an employer in Canada. The PR card is generally used for 5 years and you must stay for 730 days within these 5 years to keep your PR status.
The 5 main categories of Canadian permanent residents are – Express entry, Business Immigration, Family Class Immigration, Canadian Experience Class, and Provincial Nominee Program.
IELTS general requirements for getting successful PR in Canada

The minimum IELTS score requirement for Canada PR is CLB 7 and a minimum of 6 in each section of the IELTS test i.e. listening, reading, writing, and speaking. For a Canada PR visa, candidates must apply through the express entry program and the minimum IELTS score should be around 6 per band in IELTS which is CLB level 7. Also, there are several other immigration programs that help the applicant to apply with a low IELTS score Canada PR visa. Once the applicant submits their profile in the express pool with their CRS score, then they can get an ITS that allows them to submit applications for a Canada PR visa to IRCC.
